We all have that favourite car model and like the owner of this retro E30, he just had to add another one to his collection

With a fair few BMW series 3 models under his belt, Southampton native Nick Singh was looking for another of his favourite models to add to his growing collection. Each one has its own customisations, to truly make the car unique to Nick. With that in mind, he had big plans for a 1986 E30 import.
He decided to see what company’s across Britain could help achieve is new dream project. The engine work was completed by Ergen Motorsports. As specialists in BMWs, they made the perfect choice for switching the standard s14 that came with the car to something with a little more power. They dropped in a S54B32 engine from a 2003 E46 M3, and combined it together with the E3 M3 5-Speed gearbox.
This upped the original 4 cylinder engine from 178bhp to a 6 cylinder with increased power of 343bhp. Future plans are for a power injection to add more power to the S54 ( a common procedure to get more out of it) which could see it increase to 550bhp. This increase in bower meant that brakes will need to be carefully selected.
So in came a set of HiSpec four-pot callipers that clamp down onto 300mm rotos with custom bells. These are hidden behind the motorsport rolling stock and were the final piece of work done by Ergen. The bodywork was the next area to be worked on and that job fell to Stylehaus. A vibrant Inka orange was the colour of choice. This colour was actually the same one that was offered on the 2002 model.
In order allow it to sit jus right per Nicks plans, the arches were rolled, giving the most clearance possible. The E30s body was otherwise pretty much as it originally, with the addition addition of the Evo 2 front spoiler, Hella front lamps and Startex smoked rear lights, it was taking a truly awesome (yet unique!) shape.
Sport Evo bumper strips and bonnet rubbers were added to give it a real shine, as was the BMW motorsport handles. Still looking like it came out the factory line yet with a personal twist to proceedings; it made sense to jazz things up with some proper attention to detail. This led to genuine BMW replacements for all the rubbers and plastics and really helps complete the body – it cost a fair penny too!
Studio InCar and Air Lift fitted bags and struts after the vehicle was lowered to the ground a touch, creating even more uniqueness to the model.
The wheels are Compomotive TH’s that are 17 x 8 ET15, which have been spiced up with some Oz Racing stickers rather than the more dated Compomotive logo. The interior is totally refurbished too, with ever surface being replaced where necessary, or retrimmed by Studio InCar. They did this using Charcoal Alcantara with some orange stitching, with plans to retrim the steering wheel and dashboard with the same Alcantara colour to bring it all together.
Finally the guys at Studio InCar finished the refit with their area of expertise – audio systems. It is an Audison system with a Pioneer head unit, with a Mid Bass driver fitted to the footwells and A Pillars. 2 x 10“Subwoofers are fitted into the back of the car and can even be view through a specially created window in the boot. This allows the audio sound to match the one being created from the car itself – both of which are more than impressive and unique,
