It’s almost Christmas and it’s a time for giving back. We join the Platinum Motorsport brothers George and Jack, for their give back season Toys for Tots drive.
Since our arrival in California, all we aimed for was to collect content and make new contacts. But when we walked through the doors of Platinum Motorsport we got more than we were looking for.
In absence of George and Jack, their colleague Robert advised that the best chance to talk to both of them would be on the upcoming Toys for Tots run.
For all of you who have not heard of a Toys for Tots, you might want to head over to www.toysfortots.org. But just in brief Toys for Tots is a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve, which distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas. The program was founded in 1947 by American Major Bill Hendricks.
Needless to say, we got up and out of bed at 5:30am in order to be at their HG in Melrose Avenue, Central Los Angeles at 7:00am. When we arrived, we dropped off inside their office our Hot Wheels special package to add to the huge collection of toys.
Now, everyone who knows what Platinum Motorsport is creating,  will expect the selection of cars we found on the roadside and in the yard. We waited for about one hour for cars to gather but sure enough cops had started to usher us on already.
Leaving Melrose Avenue and heading north-west with about 60 odd cars in tow was good fun but as usual on a big highway, all the super cars just put the pedal to floor and went for it. This meant that in our 4×4 Jeep, there was no way we could keep up with them, hence the lack of driving shots.
We finally arrive at our destination was the O’Gara Reserve where we met up with even more super cars and a mass amount of Toys gratefully taken on by two Marines. The Platinum Motorsport drive brought together two big load full’s of Toys worth $10 or more.
The atmosphere was really buzzing, with everyone enjoying the drive, the cars and the fact that they will make someone’s Christmas a truly special one.
The Lamborghini above gave people something special to film, when it starting popping the clutch.
